RISE for Youth

RISE (Reducing Incidents of Sexual Exploitation) for Youth has had a very exciting and busy first few months! Support for our message appeared in local newspapers including a full article in The Londoner. pdf

In the first five months, RISE for Youth have been able to speak with hundreds of people about youth trading stuff for sex. Elementary schools have been especially welcoming in allowing us to speak more specifically about Internet Sexual Exploitation.  Hundreds of grade six, seven and eight students have participated in our Internet Safety Game.  This program leaves youth feeling more empowered about the Internet and more aware of the dangers that may be found online.  As a result, youth are surfing smarter and using the Internet with more caution.

We have made connections not just in London, but with agencies from all over the western region of Ontario from Windsor to Owen Sound. These communities have been open and willing to display our materials, hear our message and have allowed us to do staff/youth training.
