WAYS operates two open custody/open detention residential facilities for youth aged 12 to 17:

• Adelaide Youth Facility, located in London, serves female youth

• Eagle Rock Youth Centre, located in Sarnia, serves male youth, including aboriginal male youth

Youth are serving either an Open Custody Disposition or have a matter before the courts and have been placed under Open Detention status.

These facilities provide youth with an environment that teaches and reinforces acceptable, responsible and functional behavior.

A wide range of programs are designed to build self-awareness and self-worth, and facilitate the reintegration of youth back into society.

These programs include Anger Awareness, Education, Recreation, Communication/Interpersonal Skills, Victim Awareness, Moral Dilemmas, relevant Life Skills, Spiritual/Religious Care and Cognitive Restructuring.

The involvement of parents/guardians is encouraged, with the goal of establishing and maintaining healthy relationships and facilitating reintegration of youth back into the home and community.
