About WAYS

Western Area Youth Services Inc. (WAYS) is an accredited children’s mental health centre that supports children, youth and their families throughout Southwestern Ontario.

Since 1969, over 5,000 youth have lived in our group homes and thousands more have benefited from a variety of community programs.

In 2005, Community Homes Limited, an organization serving youth in London, Chatham, Sarnia and Forest, was acquired by WAYS. Their legacy of service and quality programs continues today in the same locations, under the WAYS name and management.

Currently, WAYS has 12 facilities and over 200 staff with a consolidated management team and a single board of directors.

In the years ahead, WAYS will continue to adapt and grow in response to the needs of communities in Southwestern Ontario.  We are grateful for the many partner agencies, funding organizations and community members who support our work.

Our Mission

WAYS provides residential care, youth justice services, foster care and community services for at-risk children, youth and their families in Southwestern Ontario.

We support individuals through advocacy, counselling and teaching, to create a healthy, responsible, sustainable lifestyle and positive self esteem.

Our Values

We believe that every child, youth and family has the right to live in a safe and supportive environment.

  • We believe that everyone has the right to be treated with dignity, respect, compassion and honesty.
  • We value the importance of fostering everyone's personal growth and self esteem and believe these are attainable through accepting responsiblity and being accountable for one's own decisions.
  • We believe in a holistic approach, honouring each individual’s uniqueness, strengths, courage, diversity and integrity as they strive to reach their full potential.
